REVIEW: "Fifty Shades Freed" by E.L. James

Book Synopsis (from Goodreads.com):
When unworldly student Ana Steele first encountered the driven, damaged young entrepreneur Christian Grey it sparked a sensual affair that changed both their lives irrevocably. Shocked, intrigued, and ultimately repelled by Christian’s singular sexual tastes, Ana demanded a deeper commitment; determined to keep her, Christian agreed.

Now, together, they have more – love, passion, intimacy, and a world of infinite possibilities. But Ana always knew that loving her Fifty Shades would not be easy, and being together poses challenges neither of them ever anticipated. Ana must somehow learn to share Christian’s opulent lifestyle without sacrificing her own integrity, identity or independence; Christian must somehow overcome his compulsion to control, and lay to rest the horrors that blighted his past and haunt his present.

Just when it seems that together their love can conquer any obstacle, misfortune, malice and fate combine to make Ana’s worst nightmares come true. Alone and desperate, she must face down the poisoned legacy of Christian’s past.

Seductive, shocking, sad and funny, Fifty Shades Freed is the compelling final volume in the Fifty Shades trilogy.

My Thoughts:
*Please note that while there are no spoilers from this book, there may be spoilers from the first two books in this trilogy! Things will be hinted at though.*

So I am a huge fan of this trilogy, if you hadn't already guessed by my other reviews. Knowing that, I was somewhat disappointed with the conclusion.

The beginning threw me for a loop, we know from the end of "Darker" that Christian has proposed to Ana. I was looking forward to seeing what happens leading up to the wedding and was left wanting because we really don't find out. They give us some information but I feel that the wedding itself should be a HUGE part of the story.

I am glad that we get to see more of the other characters in this finale but I feel that certain scenes were added for just that reason and not because they belonged there. The emails are still one of my favorite parts of the story, as they seem to be for most people. I promise you will still swoon over Mr. Grey and I will admit, I grew even more fond of Ana. Their love is beautiful and I hope that people see that throughout these books.

Overall, it was a good book and as much as I enjoyed it, I feel like I was left hanging. Oh my fifty, what am I going to do without you now? Maybe the lovely EL James will write a book from Christian's POV? That would be amazing! At the end of "Freed" we do get the original interview from his POV but I want MORE MORE MORE!!! This was definitely not my favorite book of the three but like I said, I did enjoy it and its worth the read to finish up the series if you liked the first two!!!

4 out of 5 stars!

    1. Well since you've only read the first one, I won't spoil anything for you but if you liked it.. you definitely need to read "Darker" and "Freed".. he's still fifty shades but you learn more about why and all that good stuff. :)

  2. These books have really opened my eyes. I think the real deal is still on the literary blogs though - where E L James started too - and not in paperback, in places like fiftyshadesofreality.wordpress and other real-life blogs that cast light on the "secret" world of reality and fantasy lived by more women that you would ever have thought ...
