REVIEW: Insurgent by Veronica Roth

Book Synopsis (from Goodreads.com):
One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.

New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth's much-anticipated second book of the dystopian Divergent series is another intoxicating thrill ride of a story, rich with hallmark twists, heartbreaks, romance, and powerful insights about human nature.

My Thoughts:
*Please note that while there are no spoilers from Insurgent, there may be some from Divergent so if you have not read it.. proceed with caution!!*

I finished Insurgent and I've been playing it over and over in my mind ever since. I literally couldn't start another book until I made myself write this review. I was absolutely blown away. Books like this are the main reason I hate movie adaptations. As I'm reading, I can envision the entire thing in my mind and it plays like a movie, so why is there any reason to make one!!?

This picks up right where Divergent left off and it's action packed the entire way. From the very beginning I was hooked. I am surprised I even put the book down at all. This is one of those that you will stay up until the wee hours of the morning. If I wasn't so sick, I would have done exactly that!

Tris never ceases to amaze me. That girl is just full of awesome-ness. She's still very shaken after killing Will but she can still kick ass and that takes courage. We get to learn more about Four and trust me, if you love him, you won't be disappointed.

Veronica Roth is such an incredible writer, she takes you away to this place and makes you feel every step with the characters. The twists and turns she lays out for us in Insurgent left me with my mouth hanging open and the ending, well.. let's just say I am going to go crazy waiting for the final installment. I've racked my brain trying to think of what I didn't like about the story and I can't recall anything! This is most definitely a MUST READ!!

5 out of 5 stars!
