REVIEW: "Joe" by H.D. Gordon

Book Synopsis (from Goodreads.com):
From the author of the Alexa Montgomery Saga, comes a book that will take you into the mind of a geniune pyschopath, the lives of six ordinary people, and the world of a very special girl named Joe.

Joe is seemingly an ordinary college student. She works, studies and reads. But in between these activities Joe has a gift that promises to add a dose of color to her life at any given moment. Joe sees things before they happen. Bad things, and the worst thing she has ever faced is just around the corner. Someone is planning a massacre at the college university that Joe attends, and the only person with a hope of stopping the pyschopath is her.

Oh, the beauty of foresight. More like a curse. Joe has four days to figure out the mystery, make plans to take down the pyscho, and save the lives of people. People like you and me. Ordinary people.

My Thoughts:
Suspenseful, thought provoking, a real eye opener.

I am a huge H.D. Gordon fan. Her Alexa Montgomery series has absolutely blown me away so far. That is probably why I was so shocked when I first started reading Joe and wasn't glued to it right away. You find yourself reading from eight different point of views and at first, it seems like too much. About a quarter of the way through it really picks up though and I was unable to put it down.

We get to see the world from Joe's point of view, The Decider's point of view, and from the view of six ordinary people. The Decider's point of view is bone chilling. He is truly a psychopath and every time I saw his name come up, I got goosebumps. He scares the crap out of me.

Joe is such a wonderful character. I love that she has a stutter, it makes her seem more real because she isn't perfect like so many characters we see. I feel like she is a girl I was friends with and that makes the story so much more alive for me.

Such an amazing, original story and different from what I've been reading for the past couple of years. You will learn to love some of the people in this story and will be dying to find out how it all ends. I pretty much held my breath towards the end waiting to find out what would happen. I'm not going to lie, the final scenes had me in tears when the big day comes. It was a nail biter until the very end!!

Currently the ebook is only available on Amazon and B&N. Make sure you pick this book up, it's really a wonderful read!
