Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to stop by and check in, I know I have been on a very long break from my blog and I apologize. I have had so much medical stuff going on among other things, I haven't found time to sit down and blog. Heck, I didn't even read a single book in November!

It's a new year and I am ready to get back into blogging. I still have some health issues but my goal is to review at least 3 books a month, hopefully more. I ended up reading 135 books last year and didn't post reviews for most of them.

Thanks to all of my followers you have stuck around, I promise to have some new stuff up this month. I wish you all well in the new year!!

Waiting On Wednesday (#2)

Waiting On Wednesday is hosted by Breaking The Spine! For now, I may do this once or twice a month. I really like the idea of featuring a book that I'm looking forward to but I don't want to overdo it either.

Title: City of a Thousand Dolls
Author: Miriam Forster
Publisher: HarperTeen
Pages: 320
Release Date: February 5, 2013

Book Synopsis (from Goodreads.com):
The girl with no past, and no future, may be the only one who can save their lives.

Nisha was abandoned at the gates of the City of a Thousand Dolls when she was just a child. Now sixteen, she lives on the grounds of the isolated estate, where orphan girls apprentice as musicians, healers, courtesans, and, if the rumors are true, assassins. Nisha makes her way as Matron’s assistant, her closest companions the mysterious cats that trail her shadow. Only when she begins a forbidden flirtation with the city’s handsome young courier does she let herself imagine a life outside the walls. Until one by one, girls around her start to die.

Before she becomes the next victim, Nisha decides to uncover the secrets that surround the girls’ deaths. But by getting involved, Nisha jeopardizes not only her own future in the City of a Thousand Dolls—but her own life.

Why I'm Stoked:
Somehow the first I heard of this was during the ARC party that Epic Reads hosted. I actually watched the video of it afterward.

This book sounds SO good. I have a feeling that this is going to be action packed and Nisha sounds like a total badass!! I am very excited, I'll keep my fingers crossed for an ARC but I sincerely doubt it. Looks like I will be at B&N on February 5th!! One thing I know for sure, I'm glad I don't live in that city!

COVER REVEAL: "Extracted: The Lost Imperials (Book One)" by Sherry D. Ficklin and Tyler H. Jolley

Lisa Amowitz has done it again for Spencer Hill Press! She has designed such a beautiful cover, I can't wait to share it with you all!! First here is the blurb:

Welcome to the war.

The Tesla Institute is a premier academy that trains young time travelers called Rifters. Created by Nicola Tesla, the Institute seeks special individuals who can help preserve the time stream against those who try to alter it.

The Hollows is a rogue band of Rifters who tear through time with little care for the consequences. Armed with their own group of lost teens--their only desire to find Tesla and put an end to his corruption of the time stream.

Torn between them are Lex and Ember, two Rifters with no memories of their life before joining the time war.

When Lex’s girlfriend dies during a mission, the only way he can save her is to retrieve the Dox, a piece of tech which allows Rifters to re-enter their own timeline without collapsing the time stream. But the Dox is hidden deep within the Telsa Institute, which means Lex must go into the enemy camp. It’s there he meets Ember, and the past that was stolen from them both comes flooding back.

Now armed with the truth of who they are, Lex and Ember must work together to save the future before the battle for time destroys them both…again.

I absolutely cannot wait to read this! And now for the cover..
